This traditional beer from the South-West of Flanders awakens your taste buds with a massive wallop. Once your senses get over that initial shock, the experience a complexe mix of winey aromas, red fruits, wood and green apple. Sourness dominates in taste. This red brown beer is a blend of old and young beer, aged in different oak barrels. Each barrel gives a different taste, but through the proces of blending, a similar style is obtained. Once botteled, the beer ripens for six months to further develop its finesse and delicate aromas.

Keg at GRAF. Hazy reddish brown with a thin white head. Tart fruit aroma, flavour is loaded with fruit and sourness. Not too much cherry but for me that's a good thing

Another of my reviews that has been lost. 2013 the Aromas and flavors are typical of the Flemish Red Brown style: kind of a cross between malt and red wine vinegar with yeast and fairly pleasant. Flavors are like nose, fairly tart with a barest hint of fruitiness in the back. Good body and strong carbonation. Would be great to cook with. Refreshing.

Hazy red brown. Aroma is cherry lactose oak almonds cream. Taste is sour berries with some chalky texture and almost unnoticeable berry syrupy sweetness. Some complex wood in there. Alright but a little sour and chalky for me.

330ml bottle from Vinmonopolet Langnes. Next-to-clear ruby-reddish body, dotted spots on the glass, tiny white head. Moderate smell of dried fruit and dark berries. Comprehensive taste profile of dark berries, tart and sweet fruits and yeast. Woody. Tart and sweet berry-fruity ending. Cleanser qualities. (TromsΓΈ 03.09.2021).

Flink zuur, scherp zelfs, maar achter de zuurheid proef je een typische oud bier smaak. Maar het scherp zure in combinatie met vrijwel geen koolzuur maakt het een beetje moeilijk te drinken.

Nice brownish-reddish color and a nice off-white head. Wonderful fruity and acidic nose. Sour, balsamico, vieneos. Love that!
