The only exception in our range of beers is the Rédor, a bottom fermentation “pils” beer, filtrated but not pasteurised.
Indeed, although we are specialised in the production of top fermentation beers with refermentation in the bottle, the brewery has chosen to keep the production of a “pils” beer.
The Rédor is a pure malt “pils”, which means we only use the barley malt as starch.
We do not add grains, so the Rédor becomes a tasteful “pils” with a real bitterness.

Saison brewery Dupont became so important because it remained true to its heritage and varied upon one of the old brewing traditions which remained alive in Belgium - the main thing which makes Belgium such an interesting beer country - but their old-fashioned approach is equally applicable to this unpasteurized ’pils’, of which many more existed some decades ago. It has a moussy, cream white, stable head and a deep golden blond colour, just a tad darker than usual, with a light haze of dusty yeast. The aroma is a genuine, pleasantly bready malt sweetness with honeyish touch and delicately flowery hops; rounded palate with honeyish malt sweetishness, soft with mild carbo and a long but gentle, herbal hop bitterishness and agreeable dryness. I agree with the people here stating that Belgium hardly has any good lagers, but if it has, this is one of them.

Draught @ Nuetnigenough, Brussels. Pours light yellow with a white head. Aroma of malt, yeast, grass, grain. Flavor is malt, grain, grass, flowers. Medium body, average carbonation. 310714

Pale yellow in colour. There’s a background fruity sweetness to this one which contrasts strongly against the strong bitter finish.

Pale straw golden appearance, clear, with a moderate amount of white head that recedes steadily to cover.
So glad I got to try this beer. Was hoping that we’d be seeing this regularly, now, but alas it seems to have just been one single keg.
A bit of paper and acetyldehyde in the nose, with some herbal hoppiness and light vanilla maltiness. Medium strength of aroma with no alcohol noted.
Lightly sweet, with a bit of powdered sugar and lemon. Otherwise, it’s a dry, bitterly-hopped pils with notes of lemon and lime and less in the way of deep honeyed malts. Not as clean as I was hoping for, perhaps not the freshest keg? I don’t know, but still perfectly drinkable and with enough hop flavor and bitterness to work through any of the flaws. Light bodied with a somewhat loose carbonation.

Bottle @ Eetcafé Toreke, Gent. Pale yellow colour, blond foam. Semi bitter pilsener. Some sweet malty notes. Refreshing and drinkable but very thin.

[10/7/13] Draught at Nüetnigenoughin Brussels. Slightly hazy straw color with a white head. Yeasty aroma with strong fruity esters and a bit of bread. Sweetish flavor, fruity and yeasty with a light spicy touch in the drier finish. Medium-bodied. Quite easy-drinking.

Draft at rose red Pours clear yellow , big white head Smell is heavy malts Taste is very dry , intence maltyness . Im a bit shokked , as i wasnt a big fan of the brewery ( even after saison ( dryhopped ) , bon veux , moinette ,.. But this is a damn fine lager
