Mit dem traditionellen Fassbieranstich läuten wir jedes Jahr am 03. Oktober die Bockbier-Saison im Grohe ein. Damit dieses dunkle Starkbier das perfekte Zusammenspiel aus karamelliger Süße und kräftigen Röstaromen erreicht, ruht es zwölf Wochen in unserem Lagerkeller.

Auburn with a frothy, white head. Caramel and candy cane aroma. A bit herbal. Taste is mildly sweet. Dry at the end, which is also slightly herbal. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Monotone for the most part but still not bad.

Kalea Bier-Adventkalender 20.12.2020 Ich bin grundsätzlich kein großer Bockbier-Freund, aber zu Weihnachten gehört so was einfach dazu. Und wenn es dann noch so aromatisch gelungen ist wie dieses, dann greit man gerne zu. Der Grohe Bock erfreut durch seine beerigen Fruchtnoten und Aromen nach Kirsche, Traube und Karamell. Hat mir gut gefallen.

500ml bottle. Very nice, clear, dark copper colour with average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, off-white head. Weak, mellow malty aroma, a touch of caramel and vanilla, estery fruity overtones. Taste is sweet-ish, pale and caramel malty, hints of starch, wallpaper paste, a touch of cardboard, estery fruity overtones with yellow stone fruit aspects, nectarine. Oily texture, smooth, soft, silky, minimally cloying palate, very fine and soft carbonation. Well crafted concerning secondary aspects (appearance and mouthfeel), sadly not overly tasty - OK.

Grohe Bock, vom Faß im Brauereiausschank in Darmstadt. - Dunkel kupferrotbraun, klar. - In der Nase dichtes dunkles Karamelmalz und dezente Hopfenherbe, bocktypisch schwer. - Antrunk satt toastmalzig und dunkelmalzig mit nussiger und feiner herbaler Herbe. Milder rezent, sämig, gut kaschierter Alkohol. Im Abgang frische hopfige Herbe. - Schön frischer, kernig malziger Bock, wie ein stärkeres Märzen. (7.10.2019.)

Bottle from Bierzwerg. Dark brown color. Caramelaroma. Medium bodied. Malty roasty sweet caramelly flavor. Hint of metal in the aftertaste. Well crafted bock.

Bottle at the Dirty Old Sock Tasting, Den Haag, December 2014. Poured a clear medium amber with a thin white head. The aroma is woody hop, resin. The flavour is moderate sweet, light bitter with a woody, sweet malt, light spice hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
