Golden Bay takes its name from the most popular beach on the North West coast of Malta. It's famous for the golden dunes that surround it, and the treacherous undercurrents in the winter months. Golden Bay is a blonde ale brewed with utmost attention to balance and drinkability: it offers a smooth persistent head, delicate floral aromas, a bready, sweet malt profile and a light bitter finish. The perfect beach beer.

Maltese microbrew. Others beers like 0.80β¬ at the supermarket, this was 3.30. Not the best price-performance but an entirely respectable ale

Slow gushing.. Pours hazy golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, floral and yeasty. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with a long yeasty, floral and caramel finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily and way overcarbonated

Bottle. A lightly hazy one, golden in color and with a dense, finger-thick light beige head. Weak aroma with a fruit-caramel touch. Some grass, yeast and a touch of chalk. Itβs quite effervescent, medium bodied and dry, with a nice bitterness. The flavor has some of the same yeasty notes, as well as fruityness and some caramel maltyness. Long finish. Seems to have been bottled before the fermentation was done, but itβs far from horrific. 150522

Bottle from Jack of all Trades, Sliema, Malta. Poured a hazy medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is bretty yeast, zesty citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter with a wood, resin hop, citrus palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A crisp, clean refreshing palate. Very drinkable and worth the money, but I wonder how many locals will think its worth 3 times the price of a Cisk?

Bottle from All 4U St Julianβs. It pours clear golden with a medium white head. The nose is grassy, floral, light herbal, toasty grain, biscuit and dough. The taste is crisp, bitter, grassy, lime peel, biscuit, hay, pepper and a light floral notes with a dry, lightly bitter finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Good body for this style. Well crafted golden.
