100% Ale Aged in Bourbon Barrels
The traditional 7th anniversary gift is copper, so we've named our 7th anniversary ale "Cuivre" which is "copper" in French. Cuivre is loosely brewed in the English-style Old Ale tradition using our house Belgian yeast strain and then blended using the solera method. A portion of each of our anniversary ales is saved in our barrels and blended in with the next year's production, providing more complexity and depth of character that comes with age. Layered with complex flavors of dark fruit,vanilla, oak, and burnt sugar, Cuivre is a robust ale, surely the perfect beer to mark this major milestone.

Bottle opened some 6 years after its release. Pours a dark brown colour and a frothy beige head with short retention. Aroma's: sweet, bourbon, vanilla, oak/wood. Retronasal it's sweet, fudge, bourbon, vanilla, alcohol. Flavour is quite sweet with some fruit (berries). Medium bodied - I expected fuller. Alcohol is quite warming, but not excessively so. Long finish, fudgey, woody.

Caramel, toffee, vanilla fudge & plenty of bourbon. Sweet, slightly bitter & malty taste. Round & boozy mouth. In good shape. Tasty malts!

Aus der Flasche 2016-12 getrunken. Dieses sau leckere Schwergewicht läßt sich ganz schwer zu beschreiben. Der brtitische Old Ale Stil ist sehr gut getroffen und das Bourbon BA fügt sich sehr gut ein ohne das Bier zu

Cedar is through the roof. Lots of raw Venezualan chocolate. Bitter espresso. Pannetone Christmas cake. Booze is not intense. Super drinker!
