La Nada Russian Imperial Stout is an inconceivable, formless, featureless negation of existence impossible to describe, surrounded by an otherworldly mist of chocolate and roast; that engulfs every palate with a creamy mouthfeel.

Chocolate and roast. Lots of booze. Black oily pour with decent head and lacing. Comes together decently especially considering booze content. Bittersweet end with some booze. Tap.

Pours black, small tanned head. Smell is rather weak, some coffee, mild chocolate, roasty grains. Thick. Taste is full, intense. Chocolate, coffee, roasted malts. Tad of that ashyness, that creates an aspect I usually call 'plastic'. Thick bodied, low carbo. Better than the ratings suggest, but indeed not Wakefield's best so far.

GABF 2015. I was not sure what I was drinking when I had this; as far as style, I thought it might have been a dunkelweizen. The dark, roasted malt flavor is there, but not overly so. Some nuts, moderately sweet and a little coffee flavor. I wasn’t not as crazy about this as I was about the others, but it was good even if not what I expected from an imperial stout. The high alcohol was well hidden. Even with the small sample size, I could tell this might be a little bit cloying after a full pour.

GABF 2015. Deep brown / black appearance with a dark brown head. A little syrupy, slight cough syrup, gooey. Lightly twangy, some dark fruit. Chocolate and caramel. A little burnt sugar. Better than an average brewpub stout but not by much.
