Rustic 500ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Reddish orange colour, no head and complex boozy aroma with fruity, floral, grassy notes. Taste is sweet, blackcurrant berry fruits, some tartness, followed by mellow floral honey, and then some warming alcohol. Syrupy mouthfeel, full bodied, low carbonation, clean warm finish. Very drinkable.

Bottle shared at Cotts Convention ii, thanks to Daniel, 05/03/16. Rich golden orange with a decent off white cap - a handsome mead. Nose is sweet tunes, honey dollop, caramel, a little 1D. Taste comprises mellow fruit, caramel, honey, Golden Grahams, melted syrup. Full boided, oily massaging mouthfeel with a boozy tickle. Decent mead ... really kicks into life once it trickles down the gullet.

Bottle shared at the Cotteridge Convention - 2016 edition. Massive thanks to Daniel for this one! Pours clear, rich ruby-orange - lovely. The nose holds berries, ripe apples, background honey. Heavy sweet flavour, sugary and oily, with present alcohol, decadent honey, light floral notes, honeysuckle, impressions of berries. Full bodied, oily and lightly chewy. Warming on the finish, slick, with further hearty and gooey honey, flowers. Awesome stuff. The richness of the honey character is just outstanding, and the blackcurrant gives it a nice edge of complexity. Stunning.

Bottle @ Home. Pours amber, no head, lacings. Sweet aroma of honey, light wood, spice, berries, alcohol. Flavor is sweet, but not as sweet as feared from aroma, honey, bee wax, wood, spice, berries, blackcurrant, some alcohol. Medium to full body, oily mouthfeel, flat carbonation, sweet finish with warming alcohol. Lovely. 080316

Bottle big thanks to Dan at the 2016 Cotteridge Convention. It is rich deep oily amber in colour. The aroma is rich, oily, honeycomb, orange blossom, vanilla, toffee and honey cake. The taste is rich, oily, bitter – sweet, fruity, honey on toasted bread, floral, crunchie, wood and vanilla with a slick finish. Medium – full bodied with and oily mouth-feel. Well – rounded and rather drinkable. A tasty mead indeed.
