This is a bigger, bolder vanilla version of our classic imperial stout Idjit. So, what does that make this beer then? An imperialer (it’s a word) vanilla stout? A more imperial vanilla stout? Let’s just say it’s big. Big vanilla idjit!

For a long time, almost since our very beginning, we’ve brewed our iconic imperial stout Idjit. We’ve not only brewed the regular version but barrel aged versions, putting it in everything from whisky to bourbon barrels. We’ve done a Christmas version and even a half version in which we cut the ABV down a bit. What we’ve never done (commercially) is a maxed out version. Well, until now that is. We’ve wanted to do this beer for a long time, an Idjit with extra everything. A straight forward big, bigger, biggest imperial stout. No fuss, just thick malty loveliness. Then, we decided to fuss with it a bit, because who can resist a little bit of vanilla?

Keg at The Kings Arm's, Bethnal Green, London. A black coloured pour with a thin beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, vanilla aroma. Tastes similar roasty, malty, chocolate, vanilla, sweet and rich. Lovely imperial stout from Sweden.

Tap@M&F Scando TTO, Copenhagen (10/05/2018) - black pour with a tan head. Roasted and sweet malty with coffee, chocolate, caramel, full bodies, some charred malty notes, then a bid sweet dark malty vanilla finish.

Keg at the Bottle Shop - Bermondsey. Pours black-brown with a small, tan cream head. Nice dry vanilla and roasted malts in the aroma, some baking cocoa. Medium sweet flavour with rich baking cocoa, dry roast, some espresso and vanilla beans. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, with more bittersweet chocolate, a little ash, more rich coffee, undertones of vanilla, some scorched earth. Excellent.

Keg at Bottle Shop. Pours a thick jet black with a very thin off white head. Aroma is chocolate, vanilla and hazelnut. Taste is a big a sweet vanilla, chocolate nutella hit that leaves a mellowing sweetness with a little boozy spice right at the end. Nice and gloopy. Lovely stuff.

Keg at the bottle shop druid Street. Am oily dark mahogany brown coloured pour with a a halo of tan head. Aroma is big hazelnut, vanilla, dusty choc, drinking chocolate, Palate is very sweet, syrupy, full and sticky and creamy,. Flavour is composed big creamy, bitter chocolate, drinking chocolate, vanilla and chocolate sponge cake. Big dessert beer,. Lingering bitter choc.

From tap. Pours pitch black with a small brown head. Aroma is dark roasted and slight vanilla. Bitter, roasted, sweet, toffee and vanilla. Lingering dense malty and solid vanilla finish.

Fat all in brewing. Lika Svart som Iceland 10 mån per år. Lite trälagring i doften samt svagt kaffe. I munnen mjuk och extremt fyllig. Sammanfatt fyllig öl av kaffe, trälagrad , lite rök samt svagt vanilj. Relativt torr. Extremt sammansatt
