Originally one of the 12 ‘Natural Selection’ brews back in October 2008 to support the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust’s Adopt a Species Campaign, it immediately won the Society of Independent Brewers (Midlands) Supreme Champion Beer award at the Robin Hood Beer Festival and followed this success by winning the SIBA National Strong Bitter title, as well as bronze Strong Bitter (Champion Beer of Britain) 2013. Brewed to export strength this strong well hopped India Pale Ale has become a firm favourite with followers of the style.

Tried at the Golden Eagle, Lincoln. Hazy golden colour with a white head. Aroma has plenty of tangerine and tropical hoppiness. Taste light sweet tinned bitter. Medium easy drinking body.

Cask at praf 2016. Pours golden, nose is sweet caramel, sickly, floral, taste is sweet, caramel, light fruit.

Cask at the Paisley Beer Festival 2016. Pours clear pale gold with a thin bubbly white head. Aromas of faint herbs, butterscotch. Taste is more of the same. Thin, bitter finish.

Cask at In De Wildeman. Pours clear golden with a white head. Aroma of fruity hops, musty notes, butter, dough. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and bitter. Some orange and caramel coming out in the palate. Light medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm. Clear golden. Intense fruity hay aroma. Mid sweet with medium body and soft mouthfeel. Chewy malt, lots of hay-like hops, really bitter finish.

Cask at Great British Beer Festival 2013. Poured a slightly hazy golden colour with a thin white head. Slightly funky aroma with grassy notes and stewed apples. Flavours of bread, honeycomb and cake. Turns to cooked fruits, malts and cornbread.

From cask. Pours cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is light herbal to grassy hoppy. Bitter, grassy, ashtray and herbal. Bitter, dry and subdued malty finish.

Black country bus bash. Cask at the Jolly Crispin. Slight haze, dense white head, some lace and yellow colour. Some citrus, slight nutty, bready malt. Juicy clean crisp bitterness.
