Aroma of toasted malt, caramel, nuts, bread, sweet dark fruits, some chocolate notes. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with a light to moderate bitter finish. Not a bad beer but the brewer was out of his mind when he named this "Dark Saison". As such, extremely disappointing.

Bottle. Dark brown color. Caramel and a hint of citrus in the aroma. Caramelly, yet fairly dry flavor. Hint of roast. Vennel. Decent.

330ml bottle. Clear, faint, chestnut colour with small, thick, creamy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Dark malty, fruity, minimally tart-ish aroma, hints of blackberry, blueberry, black cherry, a very cautious touch of Marmite. Taste is slightly sweet dark malty and fruity hoppy, notes of blueberry, hints of blackberry, black cherry, a chocolately dark malty touch. Nice.

Tap at Haarlems bierfestival. Dark brown with big off white head. Rye, cognac, roasted grains and nuts, some spices, over ripe stone fruits, light milk chocolate. Medium sweet with soft roasted bitter finish and a very light sourness. Medium bodied. Not much of a saison but drinkable enough.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Joes. Clear amber color, medium sized off-white to beige head. Smell and taste sweetish, dark fruits, lightly wet leaves, lightly bitter finish. Sometimes an unfresh scent comes by. Doesn’t taste bad at all but I’m not convinced by this beer.

Bottle from het Biermoment, BB Sept 2015, large sample. Clear copper color, short frothy head. Aroma is quite peppery, bit citrus, some caramel, slight toffee, hint of appelstroop / molasses. Slight sweet in taste, quite spicy, dry, bit peppery. Bit high on spicy yeast notes, slight alcohol touch. Seems to be a bit out of balance. Oh and btw, a dark saison? We used to call that a belgian double :P
