Smooth peanut butter meets dark coffee in this roasty porter. This Peanut Butter Victory at Sea is a nutty version of our popular imperial porter. We took our trademark robust porter brewed with Caffè Calabria coffee and vanilla and added peanut butter, adding another level to this roasty, flavorful beer.

(Bottle, 0.65 l, from Alko web shop, 20180623) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, coffee, creaminess and peanuts. Palate was full bodied and lightly sticky with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, coffee, ash, peanuts, vanilla and bitterness. Aftertaste had burntness, peanuts and bitterness. A surprisingly tasty burnt brew with very foreign adjuncts. Still, tasted like beer.

Tap at Luqua. Nose is coffee, vanilla, chocolate and peanuts. Black, lace. Sweet middle palate, rather bitter finish of hops and roasted barley. Meh. Why add peanut butter?

Sampled on draft this beer poured a black color with a large fluffy brown head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was strong nut, roasty malts, toasty malts and hints of coffee and anise. The flavor was nut, roasty malts, anise, vanilla, marshmallow and cocoa. Very long finish with growing cocoa and roastiness. Moderately full bodied and smooth. Alcohol well controlled

Bottle. A- Peanut butter, Chocolate, Reese's candy. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Roasty, bitter, dry, alcohol, cocoa, nutty. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, dry finish. O- Seems like most peanut butter brews have a heck of an aroma that never lives up on the palate. Not as sweet as I wished and fairly bitter and roasty instead.
