Deep blonde in colour, Barbãr’s creamy head gives off a powerful aroma, unobtrusively scented with honey and accompanied by a bouquet of floral, spicy and citrus notes.

Most deffo a ketchup rate ... scoped originally on a Belgo drinking trip circa 2000/2001/2002. Bottle at the Dovetail Farringdon, Xmas works drinks, 06/12/24. Almost clear golden topped with a white crown. Nose is floral notes, Belgian yeast esters, modest honey tickle, herb, light breads. Taste comprises caramel, hint of dried fruits, subtle enough honey, straw, grains, herb. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a tickle of alcohol. Tidy enough Belgo strong ... honey is balanced and doesn't run this too sweet.

First consumed pre-rating days at my first visit to Delirium Brussels in 2008. This time bottle from Beer Merchants. It pours clear deep blonde - amber with a decent fluffy white head. The aroma is quite soft, mellow, bready malts, biscuit, honey is there but fairly subdued, honey cake and touch of crunchy nut cornflakes. The taste is crisp, firmly dry, snappy, as it warms the honey comes through more, honeyed grain, cereal, honeycake, bready, warming booze and just a touch of rawness with a dry, toasty finish. Medium body and moderate fluffy carbonation. Nothing wrong with it in my opinion. Honey is there but is offset but booze. Drinks pretty well.

bottiglia 33 cl, bel cappello di schiuma bianco sporco fine persistente, color oro velato, al naso miele frutta matura marmellata di pesche note floreali, in bocca frutta gialla miele zucchero filato note erbacee, corpo medio/leggero, carbonazione moderata, discreta secchezza, dolce con amaro moderato. Buona ma non mi ha entusiasmato. c. Birraland.it 14.05.22
