A dark and interesting ale, combining fruity hoppiness with a dark, malty side. Is it a porter or maybe a mild? You decide?

Cask at The Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Bucks, 23.08.10 Pours dark brown with shards of light picking out a distinct rubiness also present, there is a light beige head atop. Wonderful fruity beer, some nice roastiness in there as well, earthy hops, a lovely beer. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

Cask@GBBF2010. Deep amber colour, small beigeish brown head. Aroma is fruits, wood, some earth and mild caramelly and bitter wooden notes as well. Flavour is quite much the same, but has surprisingly much fruity and nutty notes compared to the aroma.

From cask. Pours clear and golden deep amber with a small tan head. Aroma is nice fruity and roasted caramelish malt. Sweet malt, toffee and caramelish. Fruity. Crisp hoppy bitter with mild citrusy touch into a nice bitter and fruity finish with a persisting malt base.

Cask@Derby Winter Beer Festival, 2010. Reddish black beer with a fruity and hopped aroma. The flavour is bitter and hopped with a long finish. Overall a reasonable dry beer.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag Oโ€™Nails, Bristol 22/11/09. Well, the previous review summed this one up perfectly. Deep brownish red in colour with a decent off-white head. Bitter or mild, I donโ€™t know, but this had plenty of fruit, sweet caramel, some chocolate and a decent bitter finish. Lots of character and very drinkable.
