7th Feb 2017: on a flight at the Long Beach brewery. Red hue to the amber body, off-white crown on top. There is a heavy malt presence throughout, with caramel leading the semi-sweet molasses that dominate the brew. Hops arrive late in the mouth to give a dry finish.

Keg at Beachwood, Long Beach, 17/04/14. Clear reddish amber with a moderate light beige covering that dissipates to edgework. Nose is biscuit, toffee, sweet licks, grain. Taste comprises biscuit malt, toffee, fruit peel, hint of candied orange. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. So so amber shmamber achieveing the whelming 3. The weakest link in Beachwood’s armour on this visit, but that ain’t a bad thing at a 3.0 for 11 beers!

On tap at the brewpub. A clear amber beer topped by an off-white head. Some fruity aromas, hints of fruit caramel and pine cones. Very soft on the palate, medium body, with flavors of fruit caramel and a little bitterness. Long finish with a fine bitterness. Not impressive, but a decent amber anyway

Draft - Toasted malts, smells just like a Marzen. Clear amber with a thin white head. Toasted malts, some grain and a nice bitterness to balance the sweetness. A nice example of the style, with a hoppy finish. I am having trouble understanding this and their other beer ’James’, very similar except for the malt profile which has more roast and chocolate.

On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration. A near clear golden honey colored one with a medium sized lacing beige head. Aroma light peachy, some malts, and for some bizarre reason this reminds me of pancakes! Soft to average carbonated with a oily texture. Lots of sweet peaches in the taste. I would go so far to say that it's fruity as hell! Light citrussy and caramel-sweet before it ends somewhat mouthdrying. Nice 12.05.2012
