500ml bottle (bb: 6 Jan 07) picked up from the foreign beer list at The St Albans Beer Festival. Hazy orange body with a small white head and firm lacing. Sweet malty aroma. Wheat, dried fruit and a touch of caramel sweetness in taste. Medium palate (Shared with Finn and CatweazleTroms 28.09.2006).

Draught @ Kachelofen, Bamberg. Amber in color. Aroma of hops, sweet malts, and citrus. The flavor is bitter, sweet malts, smooth, and a candy taste for a finish

Pours a cloudy, light brown into an english pint. Micro off-white head with excellent staying power that lasts throughout. Soft and slightly creamy with up-front bread malt with a medium, dry hop finish. Would make a great session beer.

This is completely different from the New Glarus zwickels I have had. Those were light and yellow, but this is cloudy and brown. There is a lighter malt aroma that includes a hint of fermenting fruit and wet dog. The flavor is straightforward with malt and yeast; with the yeast being something I expected after the New Glarus. A hint of sourness but very bitter in an English way, much like a light bitter or mild in a lager style. The bitterness is mostly in the aftertaste.

Test vom 13.11.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,2,5,4,10,3 - 4,55

Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Dark copper colour. Thin off white bubbly head. Lager hop aroma, bit of earthiness. Hoppy bite as soon as you taste it. Fades a bit towards the end, which is a little disappointing. OK body for a lager 2.5/5 Bottle at The brewery. Excellent hop really drinkable. Hoppy as hell. Lovely. Re rate 28/09/15 if anything it’s better. Given no choice just dumped in front of me. Busy Monday. Coach trip it’s hoppy. It’s malty it’s like lager on speed. Just hilariously good.

(On tap @ Zum Kachelofen, Bamberg) Served in a stein so I don’t know anything about the colour(amber?). Nice head though. Somewhat smoked aroma. Fruity and flavourful with a nice bitterness.

Arrives in usual stone mug. Nice, creamy head, not too big. Aroma is mostly sweetness with some hops. Big hoppy, meaty, sweet taste. Like a really good IPA, giving way to bitterness and more hops. Very good, and very drinkable. An excellent kellerbier. (0.5l stone mug.)

2011-02-16, bottle from Getränkemarkt Grimm Schweinfurt (probably 6 months old), 5-4-6-2-11=28
Hazy copper color; generous head. Light malt aroma, very light vegetables too. Some malt flavor, dry but with a round mouthfeel, dry caramel too; the malt is more present than in the average bottled beer, but the dryness turns into a strange metallic feeling in the end; low carbonation, as promised; correct bitterness, and also the feeling of heavily refined sugar in the palate. Easy.

2010-02-25, draught at Charlie’s Pub, Copenhagen, 7-5-6-2-13=33
Amber color; creamy head, hazy, persistent. The aroma, grassy, with brewers malt, is inviting. The mouthfeel is quite dry, there is some cereals flavor, strong bitterness, and an ashy final, therefore not as interesting as expected in the beginning. Beyond everything, I really miss an aromatic Continental hop here...

Hazy amber color, thin creamy head. Light aroma of hop. Some malt; sweet caramel taste, strong bitterness. Quite good.
