Brewed with a combination of 5 carefully selected malts and 3 pungent US & AUS hop varieties, Slick Rick presents a deep amber/red colour, showing rich caramel malt flavours with a hint of roast and chocolate. This complex malt bill is backed by a solid whack of bitterness from Australian Vic Secret hops, whilst breathing aromas of fruit salad and pineapple from US hops Amarillo & Chinook. The mouthfeel is big, yet surprisingly dry.

375ml can from a Sydney liquor store and shared in Kuala Lumpur. Poured a murky medium brown colour with a lasting frothy off-white head. The aroma is malty, light toffee caramel. The flavour is moderate sweet and bitter, with a smooth, somewhat rich, biscuit dough, toffee, herbal, earthy, hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Over medium bodied with average carbonation.

Pours a clear coppery dark amber colour with a mostly lasting foamy off-white head. The aroma is malty, caramel, brown sugar and some sweet berry fruit. A moderately sweet taste, caramel, sweet berries and malty flavours with some caramel and bitterness in the finish.

Aromas of grass, caramel, grapefruit and a tiny bit of spice. Nice peppery hoppiness in the mouth, but the malt backbone is a little light on, even though there's a nice caramel finish.

(On tap) Lovely looking beer: clear deep red brown with dense off white head. Pleasant aroma. Medium body with plenty of soft carbonation. Good taste if a bit sweet. Somewhat dark toffee dominates with some nice fruity hints at the start and some pleasant but restrained hops at the end. The higher alcohol level is completely hidden. Very drinkable.

375ml can into schooner glass. Grassy, piney, fruity nose. Hazy bronze beer with large foamy white head. Laces well. Carbonation is fine and constant. Good body. Malty taste, a little smokiness. Finish is bitter and fruity. Very interesting and quite complex for an amber ale. Easy drinking too! (Blackrock Brasserie no longer exists, so this must be brewed somewhere else now.)
