Every now and then, against the odds, something surprisingly different takes a hold and confounds the critics — like how everyone now has sushi for lunch. Sometimes it holds on so hard it changes a place forever. Real craft beer has put down roots in this town — squeezing its way up between the cracks in the global-brewing pavement, and casting a lot more shade than predicted. This Amber Ale is prouder of its humble roots than a busload of boofheads on the end-of-season footy trip. You should be too, we did this together.

Just over 5% alcohol, six malts, three hops and trillions of ale yeasts, Liquidambar is all about sweet, sweet nectar. Noble-style hops add spice, while roasted specialty malts drive flavour depth. Show Less

On tap at Royal Albert, pours a clear amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out bready malt and a touch of herbal hops. Flavour is along the same lines, with the herbal hops upfront, followed by bready malt. Nothing special, standard amber.
