Aroma of beer jerky smoked in molasses, not that that's a bad thing. Pretty good black body and okay beige nitro foam on top. Flavour is mellow sweet meaty barley, smooth but with little character. Full enough finish but still rather unintrusive. Probably works for some people but you won't remember it.

Draft - Lots of toasty notes with some sweetness. Deep dark brown with a decent light brown head. Nice toasty and dark malts. Sweet toffee notes. Tastes more like a shwartzbier.

On June 19, 2015. At Big Rock Urban Eatery & Brewery, in Vancouver, British Columbia.Clear dark brown color, teal head. Butterscotch, sweet taste. Fudge, butterscotch aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, low bitterness. Butterscotch, dry like scent.Got a bit better when warming up, less butterscotch coming through.

On tap at Big Rock, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out oats, toasted malt and a light metallic tinge that many of these dry stouts have. Flavour is correct to style, again with the oats and dry toasted bready malt, with that slight metallic tinge. Solid stuff, just not overly ambitious, but you don't brew this style for creativity. Decent.

On tap. Pours a dark brown with short head. Aroma so roasted malts/barley and black coffee. Flavors of same with a little ash and grassy hops. Would be interesting on nitro.

Medium-dark brown. Not much head. You know what - I dig that. No nitro. But unfortunately, this is quite marred with diacetyl. Sure, there’s some mellow toasty malts, and the light body is an appreciated vintage touch, but diacetyl...can’t do it.

Draught at Big Rock Urban Brewery, Vancouver
Black color. The aroma has a bit of cardboard and milk. The mouthfeel is weak and dry, light flavor of roasty malts, a bit creamy and buttery.
Simple, but not bad; it doesn’t hit my soft spot, but somebody may like this light dry beer in the summer.
