Bottle. Color: Almost black, no head. Aroma: Bourbon, booze, roasted malt, liquorice. Taste: Starting with some liquorice, moderate to medium sweetish, with notes of dark dried fruit like figs and raisins. When swallowing followed by Bourbon, vanilla and dark chocolate and finishing with more bittery booze and caramel notes. Warming mouthfeel. Full body, soft carbonation. One of the most complex beers I have tasted, maybe even a bit too complex... Well balanced. Very nice.

Almost black and viscosious beer, a head is small and light brown. Aroma has dried fruitness, raisins, dates, some liquorice, apricot marmelade, brandy, some notes of barrel and strenght of alcohol. Taste has strong dried fruitness, raisin, some dryness of barrel and roastiness. Surprisingly light bodied, of course medium+ bodied, but I expected more strenght to the body. Great complexicity, great beer.

2017 bottle.
It pours a pitch black with a small head of foam. Lacing is not a factor.
Brandy and Bourbon big in the smell. Chocolate, brown sugar, toffee, dark pitted fruits and raisins are there. Overall boozy smell but I dig it.
The taste has brown sugar, dark pitted fruits, raisins, chocolate, toffee. The barrel aging is there but mild in comparison to the smell. I like that a lot; lets the other flavours shine.
Nearly full bodied with lightish carbonation and the beer coats my tongue with that flavourful goodness.
I had a fresh 2010. This is pleasing me more.

0,375l bottle from Beergium. Very dark brown beer with small brown head. Intensive aroma has roasted malts and much of bourbon, wood, vanilla and some chocolate. Taste has dark malts, dark fruits (plums, raisins), bourbon, vanilla and chocolate. Nice one.

Shared 12.7 oz. bottle. Pours almost black with a beige head. Aroma of booze. Taste is booze, oak, maybe faint notes of roasted malt. This doesn't even seem like beer to me. Just booze. Really not my thing anymore...
