330 ml bottle into chalice, N29ID bottle code. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy golden orange color with a small foamy off white head with poor retention, that reduces to nothing very quickly. Minimal glass lacing and some moderate streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, orange, pear, apple, white grape, light banana, pepper, clove, honey, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with solid complexity and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt notes; with decent strength. Taste of lemon, orange, pear, apple, white grape, light banana, pepper, clove, honey, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Fair amount of earthy yeast spiciness and light herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, orange, pear, apple, white grape, light banana, clove, pepper, honey, bread, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Good robustness and solid complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt flavors; with a good malt/yeast balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, fairly crisp, and slightly slick mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a pretty solid tripel style. All around solid complexity and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A fairly enjoyable offering.

A little underrated. Some coriander and booze. Pours hazy brown with fizzy initial head and lazing. Soft carbonation. Light sweet finish with a note of tang. Some orange. Bottle.

Licensed abbey beer with snow white, moussy, thick but quickly decreasing head and light golden blonde colour, clear but cloudy with protein veils after adding the deposit. Aroma of pale malts, dough, mild herbal hops, orange peel, apple, coriander, straw, pepper, young cheese and wodka-like alcohol, but also some ’chemical’ solvents. Malty, rounded onset, short sweetishness, restricted fruitiness with (too) strong carbonation, quickly turning grainy and ending in a herbal hoppy finish. Very average, another unambitious cliché beer from Van Steenberge. Used as a mother beer for a number of aliases, among which I also tasted Maerlant Damse Tripel, for the tourism in the medieval town of Damme.

Helder geel levendig bier met veel schuim. Smaak is hoppig en licht fruitig zuur, citrus en kruidig. Blijft lang hangen. Etiket is iets gewijzigd.

Bottle from Brewers Haven. Second times a charm. Deep golden, hazy, huge fluffy head. Mind grainy aroma, Belgian yeast. Sweet taste, bananas, then the yeast. Detecting some weizen flavors. Better than the first bottle, but still just average. Old: Rating due to possible bad bottle. Sour, musty aroma, head dissipates to nothing quickly. Will like to rate again. This one’s a drain pour.

(Bottle 0,33l) Sweet, light spicy, later light fruity aroma. Hazy yellow color. Huge, all time lasting, white head. Medium sweet, alcoholic sharp. Medium body. Long alcohol warm finish. Too alcoholic.

BB 30.09.2015, 0.33L bottle from Van Steenberge Sampler Pack. Pours slightly hazy golden with nice white head. The head stays for a long time. Decent lacing. Aroma is fruits, plums, yeast, dryness, banana. Taste: sweet, fruity, sourness, some spices, strong alcohol. Finish is fruity bitter with strong alcohol. Lively carbonation. Overall: I like that it’s not too sweet like many triples. But the alcohol is too strong, it kills everything subtle.

pours clear blonde, small white head smells very bad , medicinal too much carbo . bitterness with a sugary back . poor , even as a tripel . Earlier Rating: 3/12/2013 Total Score: 3.6drank when i worked at the dodentocht ( in the village this was named after) . they’re realy proud of this one there! ( and the brown, too, but back than i drank only blond beer ) . should they be ? wel , i remember it being just that hint better than the oh-so-inspirationless , huge group of belgian blonde beers. so i’ll rate it 0,1 better than these. but thats just it. not that memorable, not worth searching for ( when you live in belgium) . meh redrank at bierhuiske pours very clear blonde. small white head pretty common taste . sweet, too mcuh alcohol. that hint better than medium, so my original score remains .
