The tripel in this Bornem series of authentic abbey beers, brewed for the Sint-Bernardus abbey in Bornem. Officially recognized as an authentic abbey beer since 1999. Used as the mother beer of many aliases.

Ein schönes Tripel, das so süffig-süß ist, dass man den Alkoholghalt erst am nächsten Morgen spürt. Ein gefälliger schwerer Malzkörper mit leichten Koriandernoten und viel Karamell. Wers süß und alkoholisch mag, kommt hier voll au seine Kosten. Mir persönlich könnten die Gewürznoten intensiver sein.

In de tuin uit een flesje. Geschonken in Karmeliet glas. Gouden kleur, zweem oranje. Fijn aroma, wat mandarijn. Zachte smaak, lekkere tripel.

vivid gold with a frothy white head and a yeasty fruit hop aroma. Certainly has a kick to it, sweet fruit and light malt, somewhat yeasty with a touch of hop bitterness and a sweetish finish.

bottiglia 33 cl, bel cappello di schiuma bianca fine persistente, color giallo smorto limpido, al naso lieviti belgi banana pera spezie esteri, in bocca frutta a pasta gialla marmellata di pesche pere mature, carbonazione piatta, corpo leggero, watery, l’alcool si sente ma non disturba, dolce con amaro accentuato lungo nel finale. Manca un pò di corpo. Buona, peccato che sia un po' troppo piatta. c. Bottega della birra Arona 21.02.20

Bottle from Lidl, Inverurie. It pours clear pale golden with a thick, foamy white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, doughy white bread, sponge cake, icing sugar, sugared almonds, pear, melon and a touch of pink marshmallow. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, toasty grain, apple, pear drops, melon, grainy, icing sugar, nougat, hay, grass, bubblgum, spice and a touch of alcohol with a tangy fruit finish. Medium body, moderate to high carbonation with a slightly syrupy mouth feel. Really not bad. Strikes a decent balance actually.

33cl bottle from Beerwulf webshop. F: big, white, good retention. C: gold, almost clear. A: malty, some mellow fruity, bit apples, caramel, bready, spicy. T: full malty base, simple fruity, caramel, bit alcohol, herbal harsh bitterness, medium carbonation, shame for the style in Belgium.

75 cl bottle. Best until feb 28, 2004. Still a good head. Malty aroma with some peach and pepper. Sweetish, malty with an upcoming sherry flavor. Some remaining hopbitterness. Alcohol present. Quite OK. Fresh bottle: soft citrusaroma. yeasty, citric flavor. Slightly alcoholic. On the thin side. Fruity character.

33 cl bottle poured in to a Trappist glass. Clear intense golden colour with a fluffy white head. Sweet aroma with rich fruity notes, yeasts and boozy hints. Taste is sweet. Medium to full body. Slightly drying spicy fruity finish. Nice classical Tripel.

Bottle, many thanks Manu! Unclear golden color with white head. Aroma is peach, apricot, a bit funky. Taste is peach jam, apricot, Belgian yeast. Oily mouthfeel with high carbonation. Alright.

Flesje gedeeld met Tomhendriksen. Goudgeel helder bier, flink schuimend tijdens inschenken. Aroma van citrus en noten. Smaak is zoet en fruitig, kruidig en noot-achtig. Nasmaak van ijzer en noot.
