Cask at the brewery tap. Pours deep brown-black with a creamy, tan head. Hard roast in the nose, ash, burnt earth. Medium sweet flavour with some further strong roast, dried dark fruits, baking cocoa. Medium bodied, lightly oily, with fine carbonation. Bitter finish, more ash and baking cocoa. Very good, hard-edged porter.

On tap at Hopshead, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted malt, some bready malt and perfumey notes. Flavour is better, with lots of toasted malt, some perfumey notes and smoked meat. Hearty porter, with a good balance here. Solid.

Medium brown with reddish accent. Bubbly head. This one is keg. Has a chocolatey, fudgey aroma. Fairly rich taste, chocolatey character but with a pretty good amount of hop bitterness. Good dry porter.

Half pint draft at Hogshead in Denver, Colorado. The pour is a deep brown burgundy with a 1/2 inch tan head. Head leaves nice lacing. The aroma is lightly sweet dark chocolate, a hint of roast, and a soft bready malt. Engaging nose. The taste is the malt sweet notes initially, dark chocolate, toffee, bread, then turns to the subtle natural, well integrated roast. The palate is medium bodied, soft natural carbonation and a clean slightly roasty finish. Well done Porter, very drinkable. Would have loved to try this on cask.
