Sampled @ Gents Bierfestival 2015 Trübes goldgelbes Bier mit einer geringen weißen Schaumkrone. Geruch nach vielen Gewürzen, Citrus. Geschmack würzig, frisch, leicht säuerlich.

Bottle in the hotel. Pours hazy deep orange, nose is massive basil, herbal, funky, taste is dry and sour up front, light fruit, lingering basil.

Bottle, 75cl. A hazy golden beer with a small, white head. Lots of basil on the nose, with some funky, lemony barnyard notes. Not of the most exciting and complex kind, but the basil sure adds some goodiness. Flavorwise it’s much the same, lots of basil, with the base beer in the back. It’s medium to full bodied with a nice carbonation, rather tart. Long finish. I was expecting the basil to be a rather hopeless ingredient, but this was nice indeed. 150816

Bottle. Hazy hay yellow liquid with small to medium white head. Aroma of basil, lemon, apple skin, lemon peel, very light grain and earth. Wow, smells wonderful. Lots of basil though. Taste is dry and medium sour with notes of lemon, basil, apple skin and mineral. Medium bodied with medium to high carbonation. Really good but basil is a bit overwhelming. Would love this to some pasta.

Bottle shared by joes @ van Moll, small sample. Slight hazy golden color, medium bubbly head. Aroma of sour lambic, citric acid, slight lactic, but also with quite some fresh basil and even a slight pizza note, without being overdone or weird. Soft sourness in taste, sweet basil. Wonderful balance and one of the more surprising combinations that work out very well. Lovely stuff!
