A chestnut, tawny red premium ale. Brewed with roasted malts and English Fuggle hops, to give a smoky, spicy hoppiness on the nose, leading to a molasses, nutty palate with a light fruity hop dryness.

Cask handpump at S Fowler & Co (JDW), Ryde, IOW. Pours a mid brown colour with an off white head. Caramel toffee malt aroma. Medium body. Good level of bitterness in finish. Best of the Isle of Wight beers I sampled during short break on island.

(on tap) Dark mahogany with white head. Aroma of dark toffee and chocolate hints. Medium body, light carbonation. Flavour balances dark toffee with gentle crisp hoppiness with a nice somewhat bitter finish. Overall a nice and rather unusual beer.
