Classic heavy bittersweet ‘Imperial Stout’ with a touch of ‘Rooibos’, 11% vol.

Sans Pardon is one of the toughest full malt beers from the brewery. Black as the night, with a creamy head. The high alcohol content complements the coffee and chocolate aspects in the beer. The ‘Rooibos’ gives the beer that extra touch of fruitiness. Sans Pardon the tastiest.

0.33l bottle. Pitch black body with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, vanilla, coffee and some sour cherry. Taste of coffee, vanilla, caramel, cocoa and some cherries. Not so hoppy, its bittetness is more like coffee. Great beer for sure.

Aroma is yeast, pumpernickel bread dough roast and little bit of molasses. Flavor is more heavy on the molasses black patent malt pumpernickel bread dough a little Carbonic Tang fairly dry nice. Body is a little sharper than I would normally associate with an Imperial Stout but not bad. Good finish.

(Keg at Stadin Panimobaari, 20161001) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized, lightly brown and it lasted long. Aroma had burnt malts, dark chocolate and cocoa. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were dark chocolate, burnt malts, liquorice, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, burnt and bitter. A good balanced imperial stout. Not too burnt and not too sweet.

Draught @ Stadin Panimobaari. Pours pitch black with a smooth head. Aroma of licorice, roasty malts, dark chocolate, coffee and hints of syrup. Taste is syrupy, heavy and roasty with loads of salty licorice, dark chocolate and sugary sweetness. Finish is sweet, syrupy and heavy with loads of salty licorice, dark chocolate and oatmeal. Heavy and syrupy licorice overdose.

Bottle 66cl. Deep brown close to black with two finger brown head, dissipates slowly leaving no lacings. Aroma is very malty, roasted notes, cocoa, slight floral with minimal alcohol. Taste is bready sweet with complex yeasty notes, fairly big notes of coffee and roasted notes, still surprisinlgy clean and almost fresh finish with berries, bitterness and dryness, making it easy to drink. Medium to big body, low carbo. Very classy.

Bottle shared at a tasting at troubles’s place. Black with a bit of tan foam. Aroma of roast, chocolate, licorice, soy sauce, some dark fruits. Sweetish flavor, with chocolate, roast, a bit of umami, a bit of dark fruits, and a bitter finish with an alcohol note. Really good.
