Not as great and surprising as I remember. My palate or the beer? Both maybe. Smooth, soft and sweet, with a bit of rooibossy fruityness. Bit of roast, lots of chocolate. Smokey? Fun enough to try again for sure, but not brilliant.

dark brown colour, one inch creamy beige head; aroma of dried berries, dried cherry, dark chocolate, dry red wine, raspberry and hints of rye bread; taste of dry red wine, dark chocolate, dried berries, especially raspberry and some herbal liqueur; great imperial stout!

330ml bottle @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours dark with tan head. Aroma is sweet, plummy. Taste continues with a smooth sweet Imperial Stout character, some cocoa, vanilla, red berries and a touch of marzipan on the finish. Low roasted malt presence.
