Draught @Pikkulintu. Poured black with a creamy brown head. Honey, wood and roastedness in aroma. Flavor is somewhat sour with berries and coffee. Bitter finish. Thin body.

Dark almost opaque color, small steady beige head. Woody, toasted aroma. Medium-bodied. Tart, woody, a bit earthy cellary, hops, tar. Not the most pleasant barrel aging result. No cognac found.

(Draught at Pikkulintu, 20111203) The beer poured almost black. Its head was medium sized and light brown. Aroma had roasted malts, vanilla and chocolate. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, burned malts, hint of vanilla, liquorice, hops and bitterness. Quite burnt and the barrel aroma and taste were almost non-existent.

Draught @ Olutravintola Pikkulintu
Aroma has coffee, some vanilla and cognag. Flavour has peat, some dry espresso and burned malt. Nice, but a bit too burned. Not very much cognag here, only some in the aroma and that can be placebo.

(Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival, 7 Oct 2011) Black colour with brief, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of dark bread, ashes and mild aromas of oak wood. Malty, roasted taste with coffee, dark bread, chocolate, mild oak flavours and a dry finish with a gentle coffee bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Nice one, but I liked the bourbon barrel version better.

On tap at SBWF, September 29, 2011. Dark amber/brown with a tan head. A little weak with a sweet taste of malt, light notes of cognac and some alcohol. An interesting experiment but not the best one from Slottskällans.
