On tap at Pyramid Taproom Oakland Airport. Pours a hazy amber with thick beige head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is toasted malt, pine, licorice. Medium body, cocoa, bread, licorice, light finish, decent.

Tap at the Berkeley venue. Pours very dark amber with a creamy beige head. Aroma of light roasty malt with light fruit hop. Med body. Flavor is roasty caramel, mild, arguably fruity, hop. Finishes not quite dry and barely bitter.

Draft - Mild roasted malt nose with a touch of spice. Cloudy amber with very rich head. In the days where more is more the simplicity of this beer is nice. Malty and nutty with no hops or bitterness. A bit too light on body but a nice example of an amber.

Draught as a 5 oz sampler at Pyramid in Sacramento, CA, on April 23, 2011As "Alehouse Amber Ale"Shady amber color, off-white head. Sweet, hoppy, malty, somewhat roasted taste. Moussy mouthfeel. A bit roasted aftertaste with hints of coffee, turns more fruity in the end. Medium bitterness. Fruity but also somewhat stale scent with sewage hints.

On draught at the Oakland Airport. Pours a very hazy burnt orange with tan head of small, tiny bubbles. Lots of rich malt and wheat on the nose. Medium-full mouthfeel with chewy biscuit. Taste is heavy malt that is slightly sweet and taste lingers around the mouth. I might be a little generous on the score as it is pretty darn good for an airport beer.

6 oz sampler pour at the Seattle location of the brewery. Pour is a hazy brown copper orange with a smallish off white head. Aroma is malty sweet, some dark fruits and minimal toast and roast - overall pretty mild. Taste is malt forward, same character as nose. Palate is unfiltered, thin to medium bodied. Straight forward and nice enough amber.
