Bottle - Caramel and some hoppy notes, a bit herbal. Clearish gold with a rich white head. Caramel, raisin, slightly medicinal. Some mandarin and a little edgy, some age may do it well.

Pours slightly hazy orange, a small head. Aroma has some bourbon touch, revealing that this has been barrel aged. Slight hint of alcohol. First sip really surprises with its intensity - there is alcohol, strong fruity caramel candy, giving way to barrel aged bourbon. Has quite strong carbonation fro a barleywine. Long lingering dry finish.

Sweet, wood, oak, alcohol taste. Warming. Sweet aftertaste. Fizzy mouthfeel, low bitterness.Smell is to dominated by oak alnd alcohol, works much better in the taste. Mouthfeel is way to fizzy, detracts from the overall experience.

Bottle at Dadsgiving, from the brewery, 24/11/13. Lightly hazed amber with a good sized off white covering. Nose is dark fruits, whisky tang, toffee, booze, light spice. Taste comprises dark pitted fruits, cake mix, boozey tones, whisky soaked woodness, pinch of spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light booze in the finale. Decent enough BW but perhaps a little young, ageing may benefit this one.
