Pirate bomb is our beer Prairie Bomb! aged in rum casks. The flavor from the casks helps impart more vanilla and coconut flavors to the beer while helping to add more body and smoothness to the already explosive and expressive flavors of Bomb!

Bottle shared, side by side tasting with batch 1 Bomb. Pours near black with a ring beige head. Aroma of rich dark chocolate, vanilla, cardboard (in a good way), rum, roast and coffee. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter. Chilli coming out in the palate as well and leaving a nice light warmth in the back of the throat as you drink more. Fairly thick and oily mouthfeel. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Compared to Bomb! The chilli is lighter, the mouthfeel is thicker and the rum seems to add a touch more complexity. A really great beer!

Bottle courtesy of Kermis. Poured a deep mahogany with a round bubbly tan head. The aroma is big dry roasted malt, coffee, chocolate. The flavour is strong bitter with a rich creamy rum bitter spicy palate. Full bodied with flat carbonation. A super oily mouthfeel and a long bitter finish.

375mL bottle, pours jet black with a small brown head. Aroma is amazingly complex, full of vanilla, coffee, cocoa, and slight chilis - don't really get any of the rum barrels. Flavour brings out a melange of various things, such as vanilla upfront, followed by cocoa, coffee and rum. The chilis aren't really any longer discernible. Finishes on notes of coffee, rum and vanilla. Extremely well-integrated and complex. I think I prefer the regular Bomb!, though this is definitely delicious.

Bottle at Gallery II: Beauty From A Barrel. Pours very dark brown/black with little head. Aroma is like scotch bonnet coffee! My nose is now clear. Med body or better. Flavor is chili/coffee - tho not a lot of capsaicin - considering the aroma. There’s dark malt and maybe wood. Quite an experience.

On tap at Tapwerks! Pours black with a fluffy that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has a good amount of coffee and rum with a bit of bitter chocolate as well as a touch of pepper. Flavor sees the pepper come out more with a good amount of rum, coffee and bitter chocolate. Nice and thick.
