Bottle bought in Portland in 2016. Hazy pinkish with a minimal head. Nicely tart with cherries, funk and some oak. Refreshing and easy to drink.

The Eleventh Beer of my #6000 celebration (#11 of 13 - six beers on either side of 6000 and the milestone itself). Amazing pink and violet coloured body without any head at all - a touch of a tan head. Aroma of cherries, grapes, oak, sour funk, yeast, grain and a ton of raspberries, strawberries and way more cherries - very nice and definitely mouth-watering. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong cherry flavour at first with a very dry, oaky flavour along with some light malt, yeast, grain and sour funky flavour, but the sweetness shows through near the end, as well as even more sour notes. Aftertaste is quite complex with the dry flavours, a lot of yeast, light malt, cherry, oak, cedar and funk notes, but as with the rest of this beer, the cherry flavours are dominate and sour notes the strongest, but some sweetness still exists. Overall, a great kriek with more of a fruit beer profile instead of a real Lambic, but an amazing colour coupled with a great profile and complexity make this very nice and well worth trying if you can find it. I think i’ll cellar a bunch of these, should I be able to find them readily available again. I sampled this 37,5 cL [2015 vintage] bottle purchased from Beverage Warehouse in Winooski, Vermont on 19-September-2016 for US$11,54 (fairly steep) sampled at home in Washington on 27-March-2017 for my #6000 Beer Celebration. 2015 Bottle (unknown date) // Purchased: 19-September-2016 // Sampled: 27-March-2017

Bottle: Poured pink and red with a white head. Aroma is fruity cherry. Taste is funky fruity cherry, really tart but drinkable. If only I could have waited a little longer to try.

Treated as a lambic, this poured into a stange.
The appearance was a hazy red/light brown color. No head or lacing
The aroma started off with some sweet red cherries and then opens up with the tart side of the cherries.
The flavor rolls the sour side of some dusty cherries and the sour edge into the aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Mild carbonation, decent level of acidity.
Overall, well, I didn’t get a whole lot of barrel/woodiness but it’s clean and hits the spot. Would love to slam in the Summer, probably not so much now.

Tasting at Matt’s, vintage 2015
Red color, cloudy, no head. Strong aroma, cherries, sour; lightly cheesy; nice. Small carbonation level; strong sourness, a bit vinous, a lot of cherries, and strong astringency in the final.
Very good, not as complex as a Lambic, but in that kind of direction.

Bottle - Nice cherry and creamy notes. Cloudy pinkish notes with a small white head. Soured cherry, light and a bit thin without the complexity normally found in the fruit. OK.

375mL bottle, pours a cloudy dark orange amber with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out tart cherries, farmhouse yeast, and some earth. Flavour is similar, with very tart cherries upfront, not a whole lot else. Not very deep, but very pleasant and nicely constructed. Solid.

Strong oak and currant nose, extremely oaky. Hazy red, thin head. Very tart oak and cherry, very subtle barnyard, green apple finish. Medium body, soft carbonation. If you like oak (and I love it) this is great. Not so much lambic character though.
