Bottle @sbwf15. Pours black in color with a thin brown head. Cedar, roasted malt, ashy notes. Flavor has ashy notes, booze, strong roastedness, tobacco. Heavy bastard. Solid.

(Bottle sample @ VilleValla Pub, Linköping, Feb 13 2015) Pours black with an average beige head. Aroma of chocolate and some surprising banana esters dominating a bit of licorice and light malt roast, and I think some other fruit behind the banana. On the palate, again like bananas dipped in dark chocolate, quite sweet. Some roasted malts and coffee join in the middle, as it becomes slightly drier but still fruity. Coffee bitterness on the finish offsets sweetness. Medium-full bodied but too highly carbonated, with a bit of alcohol heat. I found the banana esters really distracting, not awful but drew all my attention. Overwhelmed any hopping. A little poorly balanced and rough.

Keg at The Bishops Arms Järntorget, Göteborg, 23/03/14. Pitch black with a big old tan head that retains well. Nose is light roast, coffee vanilla, malty, chocolate pudding. Taste comprises roasted malt, molasses, chocolate fudge, sweet pangs, vanilla, light booze. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, sweet close. Ok but lacks a little depth for the ABV, whilst well integrated, comes over a little too sweet and one dimensional in flavour.

Tap at The Bishops Arms Järntorget (Göteborg). Poured a dark mahogany with a thin frothy tan head. The aroma is alcoholic liqourice. The flavour is strong bitter with a rich roasted malt alcohol liqourice bitter fruit light hop palate and a long malt bitter finish. Looked great and was great to taste but the alcohol/strong liqourice bitterness is starting to dominate and that’s never a good thing.
