Many thanks for this beer to Darth Vader. Poured into Porterhouse glass.

12/5/2018. Bottle at the Ipswich bottle share, courtesy of Nisse666. Pours very dark brown with minimal head. Aroma of chocolate, lactose, light coffee, light roasted malt, vanilla and dark fruit. Medium plus sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium to full bodied, slick texture, average to soft carbonation.

Many thanks to Nisse666 for this bottle! Dry roasted beginning. The beer is smooth with hints of smoke. Nice dry body, fresh and intense round with lots of roasted malts. Dry body, still highly drinkable, nice and subtle sweetness. The malt there is intense roasted, nice aroma of burned grain, roasted hazelnuts or dry caramel. Fascinating smooth in the aftertaste, not sticky, moderate bitter. Great stuff!

Bottleshare at Mr Smith’s pad. Thanks to Leighton. Opaque dark brown - black beer, tidy pale head. Palate is smooth, fairly dry and has modest fine carbonation. Tangy dark malts, licorice streaked. Some alcohol spice. Light semi dry finish. A bit simple and with obvious alcohol.

Bottle shared in London - I bought this one...somewhere...then aged it a few years. Pours deep black with a creamy, beige head. The nose holds well roasted malts, cocoa, dark fruits, raisins. Medium to big sweet flavour, with nicely rounded chocolate character, scorched earth, burnt marshmallow, toffee. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Lightly warming finish, more cocoa, ripe fruits, berries, raisins. Really nicely rounded. Good depth. Great stuff.
