Over the past hundred years, our brewers have certainly engaged in their fair share of mischief. This beer, however - our first India Pale Ale - has taken a dose of wickedness to brew. Starting with 2-row, caramel, and wheat malts, which provide a bright copper color and fuller body, we then add Crystal and Bravo hops for aroma and a classic IPA bite. We finish it off by dry hopping with Centennials for an even more aromatic flavor.

Pours a brilliantly clear gold with a heck of a solid head of foam.

This has a very bitter and somewhat spicy nose; grassy and earthy with a mild hint of biscuit.

Grassy bitterness hits my palate straight from the gate with a bit of lemon zest and a general earthy flavour throughput.

Nice mouthfeel and quite drinkable for a 1 bottle session. Decent IPA.

Bottle from Bert’s Brilliantly clear deep golden color with a decent sized moderately retentive bubbly white head. Big bready caramel malt presence with a hint of sulfur. Citrusy earthy hops are there but certainly could be more present. Call this a pale ale and I’d rate much higher, but as an IPA this needs much more hoppage.

Bottle from Albertsons. Weak and watery, comes off as a mediocre APA at best, more towards the East Coast IPA style. Medium golden pour with sparse head, mild piney aroma. Taste is weak hops, and finishes in an instant. Mass market IPA for the undeveloped palate

Pour is a clear copper with a average with head. Aroma has a decent hop scent to it but nothing over the top. Flavor is a decent hop with a caramel malt backbone. The malts are not overly sweet which is a something different. Finish is dry and leaves a decent hop profile on the tongue. Decent for a mass market IPA.

Bottle: Pours clear, amber orange with a small off-white head. Berry, orange, grain aroma. Taste is very mild....orange malt, sweet grain malts, a minimal grassy/herbal bitter..... Ok, but weak on the hopping.....probably be useful as a gateway for non-IPA fans.

Bottle sampled at Norm’s Beer & Wine. Orange with off-white head. Aromas of citrus, floral notes. Tastes of citrus, floral notes, overpowering bitterness. Medium-light body with a dry finish. Too much cloying bitterness.
