Vokuhila is a strong pale lager. This helles bock is golden in color with a large, creamy, persistent white head; aromatically driven by robust toast and bread notes derived from continental European pale malts with moderate spice from noble German hops. Vokulhila will be appreciated by lager and mullet enthusiasts alike.

Argonaut Liquors, Denver 50cl: Pours amber with a whitish head. Aroma is candy, bread, pale malts, and nuts. Taste is similar. It is less sweet than other maibocks and also has less alcohol burn. Light fruitiness manifests itself in the taste. Easy to drink, but forgettable.

Bottle 500ml, ABV 6% (Bierkompass)
Slightly hazy amber color, good white head, lace. Aroma is grainy malty, similar to some kellerbiers or organic beers from Germany. Medium-bodied. Malty, very grainy, light tart note in the finish. Also some alcohol and sweetness. No idea how fresh this is, but now feels more like rustic kellerbier than maibock.

Bottle @ Greg’s Pussy Palace. Pours a hazy golden orange appearance with a fluffy white head. A bit citrusy, slightly corny, toasted malty aroma. A touch metallic, chewy grainy, quite spicy herbal hoppy flavor. Slight apple note on the finish. Ok.

500 ml bottle purchased at Keg Liquors in Clarksville, Indiana. The pour is lightly hazed orange copper with a one inch off white head that falls quickly with a loose foam. The aroma is softly sweet fruit caramel malt, some nice herbal grass and hay present as well. The taste is the sweet malty cereal grain, on top of the herbal grass, finishes clean and dry. Bit of warming alcohol present as the beer warmed. The palate is medium bodied, active carbonation and the grass dry finish. Interesting herbal aftertaste. Nice take on the style.

Not sure why I spent 7 bucks on this - most I’ve spent on a 500ml in a while - anyway - pours a lightly hazy gold - frothy head - nose of honey sweet malt, grassy hops, mild mineral - decent texture, soft carbonation - medium sweet, medium bitter - grassy hops - however, there are also notes of creamed corn, burnt grains - a sharp acidity at the end - rough - needs work.
