A copper coloured, full-bodied organic best bitter made with organically grown malted barley, and organic hops to give the distinctive fully hopped character. This Best Bitter has a sweet biscuit aroma and pleasing citrus hop flavours from the Sovereign, and First Gold hops. Soil Association accredited, organically grown Chariot malted barley is used to make the mash for this beer.

50 cL bottle. Pours cloudy orange with a slowly collapsing off-white head. Breadish malt and mild earthy aroma. Flavour is dry and towards thin malt breadish flavour. Mild metallic note mixed with a dry bitterness. Light citric acidic note into the finish and gradually taken over by a dry bitterness.

Very small coarse offwhite head. Slightly hazy amber body. Wooden floral aroma. Soft wooden tea taste with resiny hop notes. Soft, chalky mouthfeel. Dry wooden resiny aftertaste lingers. Mostly dry and wooden; pretty boring. (0.5pt cask at the Duke of Cambridge, Islington, London.)

Copper color, beautiful creamy off-white head. Hops and licorice in the nose. Bitter palate, ash, licorice and grainy flavors. Long bitter, resiny aftertaste. Hints of straw indicate this being organic. Straightforward and tasty bitter, better than many other St Peterโs brews.

Bottle (from Waitrose): pours a clear dark amber colour with an off-white head; grassy, hoppy aroma; taste of caramel with a bitter after-taste. Refreshing.

Bottled. Copperish golden colour with small white head. Hoppy and hayish aroma and flavour. Some slight fruity notes once it gets warmer. Not too exciting, and quite similar to many of their other products. Dry bitterness dominates the finish.

Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Clear dark amber. Dark amber. Intense resiny hop aroma and flavour. Medium sweet and medium bodied with fairly soft mouthfeel. Cookie malt getting over runs by intense salty resiny hops. Lingering very bitter finish. Remains very drinkable despite the bitterness.

Half on cask. Mahogany. Small layer ring of foam. Hoppy aroma. Hopped profile with delicate notes of sweetness and bitterness. Food friendly with a J.Tโs Vegetarian Burger of Goat Cheese and roasted Vegetables (all in perfect condition at The Jerusalem Tavern 18.09.2006 and a 500ml bottle shared with Finn and Elsa 20.09.2006).

Bottle. Nice amber beer with a strong head. The aroma is lightly dry, caramel with a touch of aniseed and the flavour is very caramel and bitter. Overall a pretty nice beer.
