12 oz bottle from a six pack bought at Super 1 in Rathdrum, ID. Aroma is super juicy--grapefruit, pine, catty, lemon, citrus powder drink. Pours a hazy orange with a large off-white pillowy head with excellent retention and lace. Taste is even better. This is really tasting fresh. The hop profile bursts from the glass like a clown shooting out of a giant cannon. Carbonation is lively, body is medium. This is as about as perfect an American Pale Ale as one could ask for. I always wondered why they labeled their golden ale for so many years as a Pale Ale. Looks like they retired it. This is 1000 times better and Iโ€™m glad they replaced it. Good stuff.

Best before May 10th.

A clear gold pour with a 2 finger head of foam.

Big grapefruit and pine, really hoppy nose, but in a way that tells you itโ€™s an APA vs an IPA.

Taste authenticates what I said above. A very hoppy Pale, multi talented with the mix of hops flavours going on; I get grapefruit, I get some pine, even a bit of grass if I close my eyes. Itโ€™s not without its sweetish malty side either. Nice balance, err, relative balance.

Very good mouthfeel.

Great tasting APA and "only" 5.7 % abv. prefer this to the Alaskan IPAs.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 5/2/2015. Pours lightly hazy golden orange color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of huge grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, lemon zest, orange peel, floral, grass, light pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fantastic aromas with awesome complexity of big citrus/tropical hops and light-moderate pale malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, lemon zest, orange peel, floral, grass, light pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fair amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, lemon/orange zest, light pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity and balance of bright citrus/tropical hops and light-moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and fairly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an awesome pale ale. All around great complexity and balance of bright citrus/tropical hops and light-moderate pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.

12oz bottle. Filtered orange body. Frothy off-white head. Really solid APA, new school tropical hop tinge. Mellow and supremely drinkable, this has a nice balance between dry bitterness and fruity tropical melon. Not unlike a session IPA. Pretty great modern example of the style.

12 oz bottle poured last night. Took a couple notes. Pours an orange color with a lasting head. Nice amount of hops aroma. Very lemony in flavor throughout, especially towards the end. Another pretty good one from these guys, especially with their usual low price. Iโ€™ll drink this again.

This beer pours a clear amber-orange color with a medium thin white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Light to medium body with flavors of herbal hops, citrus and toasted malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a citrusy hops aftertaste. Above average overall.

Draft: Poured a coppery golden with a off white head. Aroma was nice hops. Taste was a nice balance of fresh juicy hops and sweet malts.

The appearance has a beautiful somewhat clear golden amber colored body with a nice gentle coating of lacing sticking through rings around the sides of the glass. The head is a good one fingerโ€™s worth and dissipates within about thirty seconds.
The smell has super large amounts of citrusy fruits pummeling my nose in a sweet drastic way and ends up letting the grapefruit dominate. Some light spice does come out as well. Some light malts do come out near the end of the drink as it warms.
The taste is bittersweet like a fantastic APA should. The aftertaste has a combined bittersweet quality to it. It leaves a good bitter dry finish.
On the palate, she sits about a light to medium in body, and showcases a very good harsh-like quality like a good APA should. Carbonation is good for the style and for me as it shows just enough harshness for the style and just enough to sit just right on my mouth and tongue.
Overall, wow, where did this come from Alaskan Brewing Company? Is this a little brother of Hopothermia and possibly a combination of Free Ride? This is very well done and I would love to have this with its respected food.
