Niets zo vervelend als na een lange dag werk in de zinderende hitte zin in bier, maar er is geen bier. De Engelsen begrepen dat al in de 17e eeuw, en voegden wat extra hop en alcohol toe aan het bier dat houdbaar moest blijven gedurende de maandenlange reis overzee naar India. Onze India Pale Ale (IPA) is daar de hedendaagse, drinkvriendelijke variant op.
Maar liefst vijf citrusachtige hopsoorten geven onze amberkleurige India Pale Ale verrassend frisse tonen. Door de typisch bloemige en dennige tonen, en licht moutige smaak, is het bier heerlijk fris en niet te bitter in de afdronk. De Highhops wordt gebrouwen met toepassing van onze dry-hopping techniek.
Een geliefde IPA.

Clear orange beer, creamy white irregular head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of exotic fruits, some alcohol, bit grassy, passion fruits, pineapple, sweet caramel malts. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bit of sweet malts, bitter hops, some citrus, grassy, bit medicinal bitterness. Aftertaste: very bitter and dry, bit of grapefruit, grassy hops, not balanced enough, fruity, nor piny, just dry and bitter finish. Ending could have been much better and was expecting way more from it, given the aroma.

Bottled@HBF2014. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, floral and nectary along with some sweet malts to it. Flavour is sweet fruits, some wooden and floral notes along with a nice crisp maltiness to it. After having tasted a bunch of Maximus beers, they seem to be doing a very good job.

Lightly hazy amber beer, small white head. Palate is light with fine carbonation. Airy malt, touch of cream. Bitterish orange hops, some marmalade. Whisper of floral things. Light crisp finish. Not bad.

Thanks bierkoning! Slightly hazy amber color, small white head, some lace. Grassy, spicey hoppy aroma with hints of alcohol. Light to medium-bodied. Citrus, light notes of mango. Thinnish for this ABV. Spikey hops, Belgian yeast and alcohol mostly.

33cl bottle pours with a clear deep gold body that has copper hues and supports a modest bright white head of foam. The aroma offers up floral hops, citrus hard candy and a bit of a peach like note. The taste begins with a nice degree of bitter grapefruit hops and tangerine. It slowly picks up a slender sweet maltiness and a faint berry hard candy like note that is sometimes there and sometimes not. Into the finish the bitter citrus hops fade some as it gets a little herbal, floral and grassy with an increased sense of hop flavor. Pretty nice IPA.

Bottle at Rootz at the Harbour, Den Haag. Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is citrus hop. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a huge grassy hop, light pepper spice, light citrus, light metallic palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation and a bubbly mouthfeel. One of the better IPA’s being brewed in the Netherlands. The big Belgian yeast aroma is not there and they threw the hop bucket into this. Well done guys!

Aroma has apricot and some toffee typical to Belgian ales. Flavour has apricot, some citrus tones and grassy hops. Finishes dry with hints of minerals. Quite typical Belgian ale, except for the fruity American hops. Refreshing.
