Domestic Pilsner, Vienna and Munich malts bring a unique old-world base to this refreshing beer. With Magnum and Sterling hops providing bite to the taste, and Halletauer hops delivering a bright note to the aroma.
Initially brewed as part of the Rough Draft Series.

12oz bottle. Classic, well executed Golden Ale. Bready, almost oaty malt tones. Medium bodied, clean, lovely beer. Old school, gimmick free. Simple and sublime. Really soft hop balance.

Howler purchased at Liquor Shed, $5.
It pours a crystal clear 18K gold with a +1 finger head of foam. I see zero bubbles cascading to the top. A bit strange.
The smell is of grapefruit, pine, perhaps a bit of fruitiness is there but Iβm not sure because it does have a strong hoppy aroma.
The taste differs in that the strong hoppy aromas are more at ease and a good light bready and grainy character comes through. Iβd still say that this is more hoppy than malty but itβs close.
Light bodied, light carbonation, it gets a tad watery in the finish but I expected that considering the low abv.
Well then, this Howler isnβt lasting long...that speaks volumes to where the drinkability lies. Very well worth the $2.50 per pint.

Just brought out of retirement, I had this on tap at the brewery.
The appearance was a nice golden looking color with a decent half finger-ed white foamy head in a sample glass (had this several times to say something here).
The smell was Pilsner like with a decent maltiness running about it.
The taste was sweet and crisp, slightly showing a decent maltiness about it.
On the palate, she runs fairly light to medium. I could see this being a pretty good session.
Overall, I say this is a good American Blond Ale worthy of having again.

Draft: Poured a golden color with a yellowing tint, head was white. Aroma is grain. Taste is watery down grain.
