With a blend of two-row caramel malt and four types of domestic hops, Budweiser Black Crown is finished on a bed of Beechwood chips for a smooth, balanced taste. Incorporating the proprietary yeast directly descended from the original Budweiser yeast strain used by Adolphus Busch in 1876, Budweiser Black Crown retains the key characteristics of Budweiser with its clean taste and high drinkability. Featuring more body, color and hop character than the flagship lager, it also has a slightly higher alcohol content at 6% ABV.

Pour is a clear copper with a small fizzy white head. Aroma is slight caramel malt with some sweetness. Flavor is no different than Budweiser. Adjunecty with no aftertaste. Gimmicky beer but damn if I know what the gimmick is.

Pale amber color with a medium thin white head that evaporates quickly. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of grain, malt and hops. Light to medium body with flavors of grainy malt, and earthy hops. The finish is short with a short caramel malt aftertaste. Like Pizza Hut, Budweiser just keeps shuffling the same ingredients around and changing the packaging and marketing.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear light amber with minimal white head. Aroma of grains with a little caramel. Taste is light sweet and light bitter. Caramel and light herbal hops. Light bodied with a thin texture. Kively carbonation but not much of a finish. Overall, not bad. I dont know how this one won the contest though.

From the bomber into a pilsener, it pours a clear red with a one inch white foamy fizzy head that lasts for about a good two minutes before dieing fairly quickly. Rapid carbonation is seen rising. The smell is sweet among corn/rice adjuncts, malts, and sugar. The taste is the same. The palate is probably the best thing about this thing as it lives up to its label \"distinctively smooth.\" It is light and coats the mouth and tongue smoothly. It leaves a bland, slightly metallic yet acceptable aftertaste and a sweet watery finish. Overall, actually not bad for AB, Iโd probably have this over a fair amount of other BMC products, but as an American Amber/Red Lager, Iโd say it doesnโt compare to better ones of its style.

Bottle @ home picked up in a mixer sixer at some dumpy liquor store in Fort Collins. Pours a perfectly clear, golden orange appearance with a dissipating off white head. Big corn/rice, grainy straw, a bit woody, herbal, sweet, somewhat strong aroma. Sickly sweet, rice, banana, a bit bready, a bit metallic flavor. If given the option, I would take Budweiser over this.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber with paperthin head that diminishes quickly to nothing. The aroma is caramel malt and raisin. Thin mouthfeel with a watery malt and light caramel. Not much going on with this one.

Bottle from a Grocery Outlet. Pours light, clear amber with a creamy off-white head. Aroma is lightly yeasty with a suggestion of hop. Med minus body. Flavor is actually not too grainy, but it drops off to a bit papery. Hop is clearly present, but thereโs not enough to make this interesting. Nifty label tho.

Bottle from a Grocery Outlet. Pours light amber gold with a creamy white head. Aroma of malt and mild/light spicy hop. Med body. Flavor is caramel/bready with noticeable noble hop - seems a bit spicy to me. Itโs well balanced, maybe even bending to the dry side. Tastes pretty good, and it drinks quite nicely.
