750ml bottle that a friend brought up to DC from the brewery. Pours a slightly viscous, oily, opaque black with some soapy, off white head. Nose is an interesting blend of wood, nail polish, some spice, a little play-doh, but also licorice, molasses, toast, Kahlua. Flavor is nice as well, well balanced, sweet malt, molasses, brown sugar, a little soap, some orange zest, some black pepper, some wood pulp, touch of booze. Full, sweet, soapy finish. Interesting. Well treated by the barrel.

Bottle: Poured a red edged brown with thin off white to beige head. Aroma is rum, vanilla, roasted malt, and dark fruit. Taste is slightly sweet with vanilla and roasted malt, nice boozy rum/alcohol burn in the end.
