Not suited for timid or reserved beer drinkers, Wild Blue’s defining taste characteristic is its kick of natural blueberry flavor. The Blue Dawg Brewing team carefully selected a blend of hops and barley malt to ensure they complemented and balanced Wild Blue’s dominant blueberry notes, resulting in a robust and aromatic beer with a refreshing, palate-cleansing finish.

Wild Blue is brewed with a blend of German hops from the Hallertau region in Bavaria and classic Aroma hops from the Willamette Valley in the Pacific Northwest. A combination of two- and six-row barley malt also was chosen specifically for this recipe. Beer lovers will appreciate this specialty fruit-infused lager’s striking burgundy color, ripe blueberry aroma and its ability to stand up to the strongest of foods.

Bottle. This beer was awful. Tasted like someone took blueberry juice and poured the cheapest beer they could find in it. Deep bluish purple color, with a purple head. Aroma was the most pleasant part of it. Smelled like blueberry jam on toast. Had to pour it out. Just way too sweet.

Bottle from Publix Supermarket, Lexington, South Carolina. Purple-red with next to no head. Berry fruity sweet with blueberry and cherry prevalent. Rich to the extent you can’t feel its strength, although you can just about tell this in its nose.

Reviewed from notes.
This was once poured into a pint glass and once poured into a pilsener. There wasn’t any difference.
The appearance was a hazy yet also somewhat clear orange/Red color with a bubbly white head that quickly died. There wasn’t any lacing whatsoever.
The smell had a weird blueberry that somewhat sweet but at other times sour. It never seemed to be combined.
The taste was interesting as it took the blueberry and gave it a somewhat thick graininess to it.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a somewhat decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was fairly subdued. There’s a tart blueberry finish.
Overall, hmmmm...I’m not exactly sure what to say other than it kinda fits the style but I’m unsure if that smell was intentional.

Bottle. A- Blueberry, mixed berries. A- Dark purple color, hazy liquid, pink head. T- Blueberries, mixed berries, artificial, sweet, alcohol. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, artificial sweet finish. O- This felt like it belonged in the Lime a Rita series. 8% and full of crappy artificial fruit flavoring. There really wasn’t anything good about this. Really. Nothing.
