STOUT
A dashingly handsome stout. Strong-roasted, medium-bodied and pleasantly sweet, with indulgent notes of chocolate, treacle and coffee. Topped off with a balanced bitter aftertaste. The perfect beer for talking about Hobbs, Marx, Messi and Mourinho.

33cl bottle from Plonkers, Derby. Black with a thick loose tan head and a ruby tint. Aroma of sweet roasted malts and some chocolate - there is none of the bitterness that often comes with over-roasting. The flavour is oily with hints of chocolate and coffee mingling with plums and other soft fruit. Then a dry, warming, bitter finish develops with a touch of port.

A tasty stout, nicely balanced and lacking the harsh coffee edge of many others.

Poured a thick dark black/brown color with a creamy light brown head. Very sweet caramel aroma. Sweet caramel or molasses like flavor that finished a bit dry.

Bottled in Belize (why this beer is in Belize, I will never know). Really thick and sweet beer. Tasted like straight up chocolate. Almost hard to drink for myself. It definately had a complex palate that was superior to many other beers, but the flavour didn’t really do it for me. The tastes were overpowering and left the taste in my mouth for a little too long.

Bottled. Very black with big, firm beige head. Aroma of chocolate pudding. Sweet and raisiny with raw Carnegie Porter style mellow malt character. Thick with plenty of molasses and syrup. Could possibly become something worthwile after a few years in the cellar.

I found this for sale in the USVI (ST Thomas) and hadn't tried it. Somewhat of a mildly sharp burnt aroma comes from a creamy thick head. Some sweetness but the balance is more towards the bitter side. If you have tasted Stouts in the Caribbean, you know that chances are the Stouts will be somewhat heavy and strong and this is no exception.
