Bottle. The best "diet" beer out there. Nice amber color with a great head. Aroma, weak and malty. Taste, also weak and malty.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, bottled on 1/26/2016. Pours crystal clear deep golden amber, light orange color with a 1 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of cracker, white bread dough, and toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of honey, caramel, roast, wood, pepper, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Minimal fruity notes in the aromas. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of pale/roast malts and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of cracker, white bread dough, and toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of honey, caramel, roast, wood, pepper, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, honey, caramel, roast, wood, pepper, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice robustness, complexity, and balance of pale/roast malts and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with no fruity/yeasty notes present. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and fairly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4%. Overall this is a very good amber light lager. All around nice robustness, complexity, and balance of pale/roast malts and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Very clean pale/roast malt showcase, with nice earthy hop presence/balance for the style. Mild residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and outstanding style example. One of the best light lagers I have had.

Clear light gold pour with a small white head and poor retention. No lacing. Light body and very carbonated. Tastes like soda water with a very light caramel flavor. Very watery but better than regular Ultra.

Aw man, do I really have to say something on this.
Fine, though I’m not thrilled, here goes.
It was poured in a pint glass for the three times I’ve had it.
The appearance was actually a fairly decent looking amber color with a ton of carbonation rising into the white foamy head. The head must have died within a good twenty seconds. There wasn’t any lacing whatsoever.
The smell had some cooked caramel malts and that was about it.
The taste was sweet and once again that was about it, no aftertaste and no finish.
The palate, it sat pretty light and actually showed a decent sessionable quality about it.
Overall, there was nothing that even remotely thrilled me about this beer. Though sessionable and it didn’t have anything offensive about it on the palate, well, for the most part, its just not something I’d seek again.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear amber with a thin ring of white head. Aroma of watered-down malts, mostly caramel. Taste very lightly bitter. A thin hint of malt. Light bodied with a thin texture. Fizzy carbonation and no finish. Overall, it’s pretty bad...but I’ve had worse.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a caramel-nut color with a medium sized foamy yellow-white head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was faintly dry and nutty with a tangy undertone. The flavor was dry, nutty and dusty. A tangy off citrus presence came out underneath. The finish was short, dry, nutty and a bit off. Light and watery body. Poor effort.

12 oz bottle-Thanks decaturstevo’s wife Jo-pours a white head and yellow color. Aroma is mild grain, some spice hops. Taste is mild sweet grain/cereal, some spice hops.

12 oz. bottle Another mere placeholder, just four ratings from having a new Best Beer Month Ever!™ Pour is a sort of amber, certainly not a pale lager. Just watery looking. Smell somehow roils with all the odd chemicals you find in a mass processed lite beer. Unpleasant. Taste does improve from the first impressions, though, It’s got some grain, no obvious adjunct, and a slight hop note. They did keep this at a 5% abv, not a common thing in a lite. Hops are enough to keep sweetness in check, and it does go down nice and fizzy. After a bad first impression, it turns out all right for the category.
