Dark brown colour with thin head. It's packed with dark malts and sweet raisins. Light elements of chocolate.

Keg at Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Amber brown with huge beige thick and creamy head. Aroma very malty and quite savory too. Bit of bread and touch of caramel along with something strange, almost brown sauce like fruitiness. Taste is slightly sour, very malty, bit of stout taste and a taste that reminded me of Japanese food, which my girlfriend identified as seaweed. Very full on fruitiness, roasted malt and a tiny sour edge. Slightly floral too. Finish is slightly bitter. Very interesting and unusual beer. Rerate, 2017. Gingerbread, light spice, dark fruit, malty too. Very nice. Good stuff. Bit of caramel. Like it. Score up a couple of points.

33cl bottle from Intermarché Estaimpuis supermarket. F: big, tanned, good retention. C: dark, opaque. A: roasted malts, bit chocolate, cocoa, dark fruits, bit caramel. T: dark malts, bit coffee, chocolate, dark fruits, bit herbal, caramel dark, dry on the palate, light sour tones, medium body and carbonation, well this is good for the style yet not great.

Des Epices ? Il y en a ! Priorité à la cannelle et à la noix de muscade. De la chaleur ? Les 8,5 % d’alcool le permette même si un petit boost n’aurait pas fait de mal. De l’esprit de Noël ? Globalement oui, même si je trouve l’alliance aromatique pas forcément bien équilibrée et nous fait perdre un peu de plaisir. En verre, joli brun surmonté d’une fine mousse. Le nez est sur le caramel, le chocolat, une pointe de café et de fines épices dont la cannelle qui se démarque. L’attaque est sur une bonne complexité et plutôt bien épicé avec cannelle et muscade. On y retrouve également du caramel, du chocolat et une touche d’orange. L’ensemble est quelque peu dissonant avec des épices un peu trop en devant et un mariage pas entièrement concluant à mon sens. Côté houblon nous avons Kent Goldings et Strisselspalt, bref des houblons qui pour le style, sont avant tout là pour essayer de donner de l’élégance à l’ensemble, ce qui fonctionnerait avec des épices mieux dosées et je pense mieux choisies. La seconde bouche est linéaire sur les arômes avec une arrière bouche un peu plus amère et fraîche (IBU de 32). Le final est quant à lui réellement trop épicé avec la cannelle et la muscade prenant clairement l’ascendant sur les autres arômes. Si la longueur est honnête, la présence en bouche n’est pas remarquable. Mais même imparfaite, elle mérite tout de même d’être catégoriser en bière de Noël !

330ml bottle from Vanuxeem as La Prime Biere d'hover / Winterland. I assume it's the same? Pours a misty reddish amber, foamy pale tan head. Aroma of spice, treacle. Taste is smooth, balanced, moderately sweet malt with herbal notes, light spice, faint treacle. Ok winter beer.

Bottle from Les Fleurs. Murky brown with a medium head. Aroma is caramel and soft fruit. Flavour is chocolate malt, red berries, bitter malt base, yeasty finish.
