A blend of 7 grains, 3 hop strains and a late infusion of elderflower: This aromatic IPA was named by Scott's daughter. It pours a deep gold with aroma's of elderflower and citrus hops, followed by sweet caramel. On the tongue the biscuity malts are perfectly balanced with the bitterness of the hops, with a lingering floral elderflower aftertaste. An extraordinary brew.

(Cask at Gallows Bird, 20120908) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had sweetness, fruitiness and grain. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were malts, sweetness, fruitiness and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A nice tasty pale ale.

Draft at Taps Beer Bar Kuala Lumpur where I must says this beer has travelled very well indeed! Very light amber pour, with a little froth and dry lacing. The aroma was fruity but a little weak. The taste and palate were quite special though. The citrus notes come through for me with a slightly bitter, but rounded orange aftertaste. I enjoyed it when it was cool, but had to wait until it warmed up... which didn't take long out here... for the flavours to come flooding through. Quite a surprise really and I will order this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

0.5l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew and meilby. A near-clear golden one with a small bubbly just off-white head. On the aroma this one is kinda floral and mild. A little bit of earth, green grapes and canned juice. Not extremely, but it smells like a bitter thing. Quite astringent and watery mouthfeel with a soft carbonation level. Sweet in flavor, some watery caramel and watermelon. Dry finish with a metallic undertone. Did not get that typical giraffe-flavor we all love so much. 27.07.2012

Pale, fizzy and with a head that dissipates quite quickly. The initial taste is fairly sweet so the bitterness of the aftertaste is a pleasant surprise.

Aroma: Cereal notes. Clean aroma.
Appearance: Clear, golden body with a white foamy head. Very lively carbonation. Good lacing.
Taste: Very malty. Honey sweetness with a gentle bitter finish. Difficult to detect the lemon zest and elderflowers added during the brewing process.
Palate: Thin, light body. Fizzy carbonation.
Overall: A solid, if unspectacular beer.

Brown 500ml bottle, best before May 2009, drank April 2008. Poured into a Gordon thistle shaped glass (twice), well it is a Scottish beer! Fairly pale amber, clear body with a good deep white head which stayed the distance. I like my beers a bit darker, but it still looked OK. Seven different malted barleys, some wild elderflowers and lemon zest ensures the aroma is a heady mix of smells. The aforementioned ingredients obviously don’t just impart aroma, the taste reflects them too. This is a summer beer to me, the colour and flavours are ’Country Garden’, very pleasant. The hops come into play as the beer warms in the mouth and add to the overall enjoyment, a fine Scottish beer from the old heartland of their brewing industry.

Half pint, cask ale, at the Wetherspoon’s pub Sir John Moore. Light amber coloured body, slight haze, no lace, no head. Smell of juicy malts. Malt-fruity taste with semi-dried fruits and earthy malts. Bittersweet ending. So and so (Glasgow, 10.04.2012).
