Dark brown and and a bit murky. Aroma has some sweet malt and a hint of chocolate. There's a slight fruity sourness possibly from the yeast that I don't really like in a Dubbel.

Grunt fill from Albertsons. Dark brown, small skin of head, light ring around glass. Aroma is plums and yeast, brown sugar. Taste is a bit more subdued than the aroma, mildly sweet, mostly fruity. The other elements fade to the background. Finishes with a whimper.

Creamy beige head left a good covering on a highly active, finely carbonated, dark reddish brown body. Boozy aroma of dark fruits, dates, demerara & spices. Medium bodied, highly effervescent on the palate but thins out to the back to leave a clean finish. Slightly woody tasting with demerara, mixed spices, festive spice, over stewed fruit, dark grapes & vanilla.
