Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Short backstory: I lived in Devon from 1998-2005 (pre-RB) and I love a good sweet, strong Devon beer like this. Mahogany, little head. Smells of port with a hint of bitter chocolate. The taste has it all going on: sweet with a tempering bitterness, full exploration of the flavours, moreish aftertaste. Great stuff.

Cask conditioned gravity, White Cliffs BF 08. Ruby colour with a little head. Syrupy malty beer with decent hop. But the fruity syrupy malt dominates. I do like the peppery hop on the finish though.
