500ml bottle from The Cider Press, Dartington. Pours a lifeless dark brown with no head. Aromas & tastes of caramel, toffee & roasted malt. Moderate body. Sweet malty light bitter finish. Disappointing especially in the lifeless appearance with 4 months left before BB date

Gravity cask at Maltingsfest, Newton Abbot 23/04/2022 Pours dark amber with a beige cap. Aroma: roasted malts, caramel, grass. Taste: light to moderate sweet & bitter, grainy malts, caramel, nutty, grassy. Medium body with soft carbonation.

8/2/2020. From cask at the Great British Winter Beer Festival, Birmingham. Pours clear mid brown with a bubbly off-white head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt and toffee. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Medium body, slight watery and oily texture, average to soft carbonation

Cask @ GBBF, Birmingham. Small head with short duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are bitter hops, fruits, malt and has a nice bitter finish. Color is dark brown. Aroma and taste are roast malt, chocolate, caramel, hops and has a nice long bitter finish.

Cask pint in the Wolverhampton Wetherspoons on 28th Feb 2015. Clear mahogany body with a creamy beige head. Semi-sweet malty lead in both the aroma and taste, hops come later: nice blend with enough about it to want another.

Cask ale, half at Richard John Blackler. Creamy pearl white head that laced well. Hazy amber coloured body. Grainy chocolate on the nose. Taste of mild chocolate malts, caramel and dusty hops. Mid-sweet endnotes. Foamy in the mouth. Suitable after the breakfast at Wetherspoons (Liverpool 01.02.2015).
