Cask at the Bird-in-Hand, Knowl Hill. Light copper in colour with a tight white head; fruity malt aroma; soft and fruity in the mouth with some burnt caramel and fruity hops giving a gentle but sustained bitterness and a lingering grassy caramel finish.

Cask @ St. Urho’s Pub
Aroma is quite light with cocoa and nuts. Flavour is a bit odd with berries, toffee, hints of mint and nuts. Also some caramel character exists. Palate is a bit light. Decent.

Pours clear golden with a small head. Aroma of crisp grassy notes, hints of malts and bread. Taste is malty, slightly bready and grassy. Finish is sweetish and slightly bitter. Okay, quite generic bitter.

Cask at the Staion Hotel, Hither Green. Gold/amber pour with a white head. Nutty, caramel malt aroma with a smidgen of citrus. Fruit burst in the flavour, lots of pear and citrus in there. Bitter-fruit finish.

Cask at The Orange Tree, Chelmsford. I have had some excellent Dark Star beers before, but Partridge is a long way from being their best. It was just rather bland and uninspiring.
