Cask at the Bird-in-Hand, Knowl Hill. Light copper in colour with a tight white head; fruity malt aroma; soft and fruity in the mouth with some burnt caramel and fruity hops giving a gentle but sustained bitterness and a lingering grassy caramel finish.

Cask @ St. Urho’s Pub
Aroma is quite light with cocoa and nuts. Flavour is a bit odd with berries, toffee, hints of mint and nuts. Also some caramel character exists. Palate is a bit light. Decent.

Cask at The Orange Tree, Chelmsford. I have had some excellent Dark Star beers before, but Partridge is a long way from being their best. It was just rather bland and uninspiring.
